step one, check...

I did it. I joined Gold's Gym!

I think it's kind of funny how excited I get when I get something new. Does anyone else get this way? Like when I buy new clothes and I have to wear them RIGHT AWAY. I feel the same way when I join a new gym. Everything is all fresh and new. I can't wait to go! I'm going to spin class and possibly pilates tonight with a friend. So excited! Now, let's see how long I can stay excited about it. :(
Motivation can be a hard thing to come by. Especially as the weather gets colder and the days get shorter. I was just talking to my mom about this last night and it's amazing how motivating my words can be for someone else, but then I don't even take my own advice! I was trying to motivate her to join a gym and I told her that one of my main reasons for being active is how it makes me feel. I love the way I feel after a hard workout - it's so empowering. When I'm working out regularly, I feel more confident, happier and I have more energy. I know all these things, yet it's been three weeks since my last workout. What gives? Maybe I need to write down all the reasons and I love working out and post them all around my office and house, just as a reminder and as motivation to get moving!
